Redact a PDF region

Remove a visible region by creating a new image-only PDF. No account required. Processing stays in your browser.

Work on a copy. Keep the original and inspect your downloaded file.

Coordinates in PDF points from the top-left corner. 72 points = 1 inch. Check the preview selection before generating the file.

Click the preview to place the top-left corner.

One region on one page per operation. All pages become 144 DPI images in a new PDF, without copying hidden text, attachments or original metadata. Up to 50 pages; file size may grow significantly. It does not detect other sensitive data.

    Privacy and limits

Files are processed in this browser without uploads. Encrypted or digitally signed PDFs are not supported. Editing and conversion may change the document; always keep the original. Operations stop when memory limits are exceeded.

    Get a useful result

Select a region on one page and inspect its edges in the preview. The output is rebuilt as images: review every page and look for repetitions of the data elsewhere. Keep the original separately and share only the reviewed copy.

    A practical example

Mark a fictional detail on page 1. Check the new PDF: the region should be covered and the document converted to images without selectable text.

Can I redact by cropping a page or adding a watermark?

They are not equivalent operations: cropping may leave recoverable content and a watermark does not remove what is underneath. Redacting one region does not locate other personal information or guarantee anonymity. Rasterization loses selectable text and accessibility.
